Architectural Printmaking
This is the first project my Mixed Media class worked on. We created printing plates out of cardboard inspired by different pieces of architecture and finished the prints with oil pastels & colored pencils.
Support For New Teachers
The first year of
teaching will be challenging in a variety of ways and it is essential to
develop a support structure to guide you through this period of your career.
Many districts provide new teachers with mentor partners and locating an
experienced mentor figure will provide a valuable resource for sharing
concerns, ideas and management strategies.
Developing
professional relationships with educators in your field or within your school
community will also be important. Discussing issues from multiple perspectives
is valuable and can provide insight into effectively working with diverse
classroom populations, management concerns and solutions to problems.

Successful Art Educators
-->
-->
A
successful art educator is passionate and deliberate about teaching students to
think creatively. This process involves creating an environment where students
solve problems involving a variety of media, design, and construction components. The role
of an art educator is to facilitate a clear understanding of these problems and
solutions by providing meaningful and relevant suggestions, feedback, and
guidance.
Art
educators who are willing to experiment with new ideas and materials continue
to develop their own skills as working artists. It is important not to loose
the curiosity and enjoyment of the artistic process that provides the necessary
balance between educator and working artist. Learning to navigate though
problems you encounter during your own artistic endeavors will provide valuable
insight you can offer to your students.
